Utilising the WSDM methodology for building the project, key technologies and tools included C#, ASP.Net Web Forms, Bootstrap framework, JavaScript, SQL Server Database, and Figma & Drawio for design. This provided capabilities for a robust backend server code in C# and ASP.NET, responsive front-end UI with Bootstrap, client-side scripting and validation in JavaScript, database storage and retrieval with SQL Server, and rapid prototyping of UI/UX with Figma and Drawio diagramming.
Simon Necktie is a fictional local business selling handcrafted men’s neckties. As a demo project, the owner wants to showcase development of a robust e-commerce website and ordering system using ASP.NET Web Forms to highlight capabilities in building an online platform.
ASP.NET Web Forms provides the ideal web development framework for creating the required e-commerce functionality including user registration and account management, an admin portal, product catalogues, shopping cart, payments, order tracking, and customer support.
Key features enabled by ASP.NET Web Forms include simplified user registration, member profile management, admin analytics tools, categorised product browsing, persistent shopping carts, order tracking, community engagement, and customer support.
By leveraging ASP.NET Web Forms to develop this demo site, the project exhibits skills in designing and coding a fully-featured e-commerce platform to meet typical business needs. Although fictional, it demonstrates core competencies in using ASP.NET Web Forms to build the necessary components for a comprehensive online shopping experience.
Overall, the Simon Necktie demo serves to showcase proficiency in using ASP.NET Web Forms for rapid, secure e-commerce development and creating the robust digital infrastructure to facilitate online expansion.
